Thanks class!

Thank you all for a crazy three weeks of class. I have LOVED this class and diving deeper into the science curriculum with you. I think we are all ready to tackle the science world in our classrooms with exciting new ideas and practices. Dr. Kat has prepared us to lead the STEM leaders of tomorrow and generate an excitement among our students in regards to science.

We have proven through project WET and WILD, our final lesson plan, and lit circles that we are absorbing the information we are learning and putting it into practice. The guest speakers provided us with insightful information and resources we can later us in our classroom (and a mini gas explosion).

I think my favorite part of the class was learning how to make science fun again. Students are BORED with the scientific method. Who wants to memorize a boring and slightly unrealistic method? Students want action and to put the method into use. This is what a true scientist does everyday. Science is not something children are striving for. Students are already scientists, they are just becoming more knowledgable through classroom experiences.

Everyone have a wonderful summer! I look forward to seeing many of you in other classes!
